According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, more than 5,000 participants joined the coastal cleanup efforts this year. These included the leadership and representatives of the Ministry of Environment, heads of central executive bodies within the Ministry of Environment's scope of management, representatives of local authorities, foreign diplomats, active public figures, including the team of LLC "ECOMENEDZHMENT GROUP", ecoquality.ua, the public organization "Ecological News" together with concerned Kherson residents.

In Ukraine, the largest cleanup location was in the Tysa basin, where the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Roman Abramovsky, personally participated. Here, almost 500 people collected over 11 tons of garbage.
Overall, more than 10,000 bags of garbage were collected across the country.
The estimated weight of collected waste is over 90 tons!
For comparison:
2018 – almost 32 tons collected
2019 – over 35 tons
2020 – over 90 tons.
Mainly, this includes: disposable tableware and glass bottles from alcohol, plastic bags, used clothing, car tires, a huge number of cigarette butts, and more.
This year, a certain amount of waste from personal protective equipment and patient care items was added, namely: protective masks, rubber gloves, disposable paper tissues, and antiseptic bottles.
