The fifth large-scale international "Eco Forum" in the regional center was announced for September 14-16 in Zaporizhzhia.
The city council announces traditional specialized exhibitions, presentations, thematic round tables, and panel discussions. Innovations will include a landscape design project competition, an increase in the number of expert guests, and the involvement of new partners.
It should be noted that last year more than eighty speakers spoke at the event, and sixty specialized exhibitions were held. It was attended by more than two thousand people, including those from Canada, the USA, and Germany.
The main theme of this year's forum is the European Green Deal through local initiatives. According to the organizers, this is currently the number one topic in all European countries. The introduction of green production, the use of green energy, and the attraction of eco-investments - all these topics will be presented and discussed.
"We have also retained all our popular traditional areas: atmospheric air protection, municipal and industrial waste management, etc. We invite deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and representatives of relevant ministries to participate in order to give the forum some legislative function," said Hlib Zolotaryov, head of the environmental safety department of the city council.
Over three days, discussions on the main topic of the forum are planned, as well as the work of the sections "Local initiatives within the European Green Deal" and "European Green Deal - opportunities for the development of Ukrainian business", a meeting of the committee on environmental management and environmental protection at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine. Also, sections "Energy efficiency, renewable energy", "Water resources management: water quality, wastewater treatment", "Industrial and household waste management", "Atmospheric air protection" will work, and the All-Ukrainian student professional creative competition of environmental management projects will be held. A landscape design project competition and the work of public organization sections are also expected.
As Dmytro Antoniuk, Vice-President of the Zaporizhzhia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, an exhibition of environmental solutions, technologies, and initiatives will be held in parallel.
"We plan to gather more than eighty exhibitors. We are also continuing the campaign to attract speakers - 15 well-known experts in the field of ecology have already confirmed their participation," he emphasized.
The organizers hope for a positive epidemiological situation that will allow the event to be held offline.
