In the program "And what's really going on?" with Myroslava Bobrovska the head of the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine Andriy Malyovany named 4 environmental problems of Ukraine.
The guest of the program touches upon the topic of Ukraine's ecology and comments on its current problems. First of all, he notes that in this regard, the state is significantly behind Europe, and existing problems can lead to irreversible consequences at any moment.
According to the expert, environmental legislation of Ukraine is controlled by the economic inspection in the areas of protection of atmospheric air, water and green spaces, including forests, bioresources, animal and aquatic world, as well as protection in terms of waste. "We need to talk about resources, about problems in each industry separately," Malyovany emphasizes.
The expert calls the biggest problem of Ukrainian ecology the lack of processing of industrial and household waste: almost all of it is buried. "The second problem today is air pollution," he reports. In order not to be unfounded, Malyovany cites data for this half-year: the state and nature suffered losses amounting to 200 million hryvnias - these figures are the result of inspections of industrial enterprises whose work pollutes the atmospheric air.
"Problem number three and four are nearby - these are forest resources and the damage caused by illegal trafficking, and illegal logging, cutting of forests," notes the guest of the program. He adds that there were also problems in the field of water resources: losses amounted to 130 million hryvnias.
