The Ukrainian Association of Ecologists stated that a powerful imitation of environmental responsibility is unfolding in the country, which brings negativity not only to the environment but also to citizens and industrial development.
As Lyudmyla Tsyhanok, president of the Professional Association of Ecologists of Ukraine, emphasized in an interview with "Channel 5", representatives of state authorities, business, and society manipulate the field of environmental protection (to watch the video, scroll to the end).
"What does this lead to? That in the framework of a large number of environmental problems, we: a) lose time and b) undermine trust and lose the chance to solve anything at all. Therefore, this issue greatly concerns the professional community and should concern all residents of Ukraine, because behind all this lies a risk to the life and health of each of us," she emphasized.

Tsyhanok emphasized: preserving the natural environment and clean air is a matter of shared responsibility of the government, the public, and business, and not just industrialists. According to her, the topic of ecology is especially often manipulated by so-called activists, who organize protests and pickets. Behind them, she says, worthy initiatives "drown".
"We understand that there is no experience behind this, no practitioners who know solutions. And these are exclusively actions with demonstrations. Therefore, the question is: what are such activists really trying to achieve? How do they plan to solve this or that problem? Or is it exclusively an informational wave that discredits other actions and other representatives of good public associations?" Tsyhanok noted.
She added that for the environmental topic to stop being populist, every Ukrainian must realize the risks to life and health from what is done or said.
