In a week, the environment was damaged by UAH 20.5 million.

From January 29 to February 4, the State Environmental Inspectorate calculated almost UAH 20.5 million in damages for non-compliance with environmental legislation. Violators were fined UAH 150,000.

This was reported by the press service of the State Environmental Inspectorate.

From January 29 to February 4, the territorial bodies of the State Environmental Inspectorate carried out 589 inspections and drew up 709 protocols on administrative offenses. Violators were fined UAH 150,000, and the amount of damage caused to the environment amounted to UAH 20 million 481 thousand, - informed the head of the State Environmental Inspectorate Andriy Malyovany.

The most resonant case of non-compliance with environmental requirements is the calculation of almost UAH 15 million in damages to an enterprise in Khmelnytskyi region.

The DEI in Khmelnytskyi region found that LLC "Podilsky Tsegelnyk" was engaged in unauthorized clay extraction. The company has already been sent a claim for damages, and the case materials have been provided to the National Police, - emphasized Andriy Malyovany.

The official also reminded about the large-scale deforestation that was recorded this week in the forestry of Vinnytsia region.

Also, UAH 3.6 million in damages were calculated by the State Environmental Inspectorate as a result of illegal logging in the State Enterprise "Tulchynsky Rayagrolis" in Vinnytsia region. Currently, the SBU Department is deciding on opening criminal proceedings on this fact, - added Andriy Malyovany.
