Ukraine has produced its first batch of eco-friendly tape.

The first batch of ecological tape in Ukraine was produced in Kharkiv region. The idea of the local publishing house "Ranok" was brought to life by Zmiiv Paper Mill.

How did this idea come about?

Viktor Kruglov, director of the "Ranok" publishing house, told the details about it. According to him, the company prints books on paper produced by the Zmiiv factory.

More than 100 thousand parcels have to be packed annually with tape. However, such packaging cannot be recycled, because the tape sticks to the wrapper.

I remembered how once all windows were sealed for the winter with paper strips smeared with starch. We thought, it is possible to do this by industrial method,

- noted Kruglov.

"So engineers and chemists 'conjured' a bit with synthesized starch," explained the director of the "Ranok" publishing house.

Features of the product

It should be noted that there are certain nuances in the use of such ecological tape. Before applying the tape, it must be moistened with water.

But developers are already creating equipment that will help quickly moisten the tape to quickly pack parcels. The first such device has already been presented.

First in Ukraine

Kruglov noted that their development is the first in Ukraine. Now it is an experimental batch. However, eco-tape is intended to be produced on an industrial scale, which will reduce its price.

Now the price per unit is almost twice as high as ordinary adhesive tape, but production in large batches will be cheaper,

- explained the director of the publishing house.

In addition, he also noted that many companies have already become interested in ecological tape and would like to use it in their work.
