Dobagroup "Effective Investments" invests up to UAH 170 million in the creation of a new eco-packaging production facility in the Lviv region.
Sem ECOPACK LLC (Tomakivka, Dnipropetrovsk region), which is part of the "Effective Investments" group, intends to invest about UAH 170 million in the creation of a new production of environmentally friendly cardboard packaging Sem Ecopack in Sambir (Lviv region) with a capacity of 150 million units of packaging products per year.
"The new production will appear on the site of the former bakery. Sem ECOPACK LLC acquired the immovable property of the plant from Khlibprom Concern JSC," the press service of the "Effective Investments" group told Interfax-Ukraine agency.
Sambir bakery was closed in 2018 by the decision of the "Khlibprom" concern (associated with the founder of OKKO Group Vitaliy Antonov - IF).
As noted in the group's press service, at the first stage, "Sem ECOPACK" plans to invest about UAH 70 million in restoring the operation of the existing production complex and over UAH 100 million - in subsequent stages. The new production in Sambir is planned to be put into operation at the beginning of 2022.
"I hope that in a year Facebook will remind me of these ruins, and I will show you a working production here! An inspiring story when you can build a European-level enterprise with product exports to Europe from ruins," wrote the head of the group's supervisory board Ihor Liski on his Facebook page, accompanying the post with photos of the premises of the former bakery in Sambir.
According to the press service, currently Sem ECOPACK LLC, established in 2014, develops two directions: production of ecological packaging and mechanical engineering, while the mechanical engineering direction uses more than 80% of Ukrainian elements.
"The product line of the Lviv enterprise will be completely new, as "Sem ECOPACK" creates innovative solutions: currently, several dozen new types of packaging from environmentally friendly material - pulp cardboard - have been created, the peculiarity of which is that after refinement, any shape of the required rigidity can be created from it," the press service noted.
At the same time, the company emphasized that this material is capable of replacing almost all plastic packaging.
"The company is export-oriented, but the domestic market also interests us, as we provide Ukrainian manufacturers with the opportunity to sell goods in high-quality packaging abroad," the press service noted.
According to the state register, "Sem ECOPACK Lviv LLC" in Sambir was registered on December 16, 2020, 100% of it belongs to Sem ECOPACK LLC, and Ihor Liski is the ultimate beneficiary.
Sem ECOPACK LLC currently produces packaging (molded containers) for various types of fruits (melons, apples, kiwis), for berries, packaging for bottles, and other types of packaging. In 2019, the company's revenue amounted to UAH 96.6 million, net profit - UAH 13.6 million.
The "Effective Investments" group of companies was founded in 2007 and is engaged in the implementation of business projects in Ukraine.
The group operates in various sectors of the economy: agriculture, pulp industry, construction, gas industry, energy, creative industry, mechanical engineering, and coal industry.
The group's production facilities are located in five regions of Ukraine with a management center in Kyiv.
