Police opened a criminal case against Kamianske Mayor Bilousov over environmental threat - Media
An illegal landfill for household waste has been operating in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region, for a long time. Despite the threat to the environment and local residents, the Kamianske authorities simply ignore the problem.

"Kamianske is traditionally considered one of the most polluted cities in Ukraine. There are 57 industrial enterprises in the settlement: metallurgical, chemical, coke-chemical, machine-building, energy," journalists report.
The environmental threat intensified when an illegal solid waste dump was formed on Dorozhna Street. However, Kamianske Mayor Andriy Bilousov does not react in any way, despite pressure from the media, the public, and even court decisions.
"The Zhovtnevy District Court obliged the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office to enter information on this case into the ERDR. As it turned out, the landfill operates without obtaining an environmental impact assessment conclusion, which poses a threat to the health of Kamianske residents," the publication says.
The Dnipropetrovsk District Administrative Court announced back in 2019, based on the results of an inspection, that "sources of pollutant emissions into the air, for which there is no permit," were recorded at the landfill.
The court named KP "Komunalnyk" as responsible for the violation. A subsequent inspection conducted by the regional environmental inspection showed that the KP did not even try to obtain the necessary permits.
"That is, in fact, with the assistance of the city authorities represented by Kamianske Mayor Andriy Bilousov, there is an illegal dump in the city that poisons Kamianske residents - pollutes the city's territory and atmosphere, poses a threat to people's health (including employees) and has a harmful effect on the environment," journalists state.
Such actions fall under Art. 236 and Art. 239 of the Criminal Code. The Kamianske police department has already opened criminal proceedings, as the city authorities have not yet complied with court decisions regarding the prohibition of the illegal landfill's activities.
