In the Kherson region, the ecology is one of the best in Ukraine.
The State Statistics Service published data on the level of pollutant emissions into the atmosphere in various regions of Ukraine.
In the Kherson region, emissions from stationary sources in 2020 amounted to 17.8 thousand tons.
For comparison, in the Donetsk region this figure is 751 thousand tons, in the Dnipropetrovsk region - 534.7 thousand tons.
Lower emissions than in the Kherson region were recorded only in a few regions of the country: Zakarpattia, Volyn, Ternopil, Rivne, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv and Zhytomyr regions.
