The "green" tradition continues: how Air France - KLM help the environment in Ukraine

Air France and KLM have been working for many years to reduce their environmental impact, for example, by implementing environmentally friendly aviation fuel, updating their fleets, offering passengers products produced with minimal harm to the environment, and recycling waste.

In 2019, the Air France - KLM offices in Ukraine accepted a tree planting flashmob from the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan - #Sharing_a_healthy_future_for_Ukraine - and thus supported the concept of careful attitude to the environment and active actions to solve environmental problems today.

This year, they continued the "green" initiative together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Dutch company MOQOD and on March 27 planted 28 liriodendron tulipifera trees in "Dobropark" as part of the "Plant a named tree" campaign.

Air France and KLM are constantly working on improvements and regularly evaluate progress, but creating an environmentally sustainable future requires the combined efforts of all parties - airlines, passengers, and representatives of other industries. Individual travelers can join the "green" initiative and offset CO2 emissions from their flight thanks to the CO2ZERO service when booking a flight. By choosing the CO2ZERO service, you contribute to the "CO2OL Tropical Mix" reforestation initiative in Panama, where over 7.5 million trees have been planted to date.

Corporate clients can join the "Sustainable Aviation Fuel" program or also use the CO2ZERO service. The "Sustainable Aviation Fuel" program allows company employees to fly on environmentally friendly fuel, and the CO2ZERO carbon offset service allows them to fly CO2-neutral flights worldwide.

In recognition of KLM's efforts in sustainable development, including the development of environmentally safe aviation fuel (biofuel) - SAF, KLM received the Sustainable Aviation Award at the Middle East Aviation Achievement Awards 2021.
