The environmental tax in Ukraine will increase. This is the country's obligation to the European Union.
Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko announced this in an interview with "Slovo i Dilo".
"We are talking about increasing rates. The environmental tax is expected to increase within the framework of inflation – these are our obligations to the European Union. In addition, given a certain imbalance in the electricity market, this is a normal, completely logical step," he said.
The Ministry of Finance is also working on other changes to the Tax Code. According to Marchenko, these are issues of excise taxes, rent, land tax, and taxation of agricultural producers.
"The theses are quite simple. There are main areas of economic activity that receive an unfair distribution of income and an unjustified increase in profits. In general, these changes involve expanding the tax base and increasing tax revenues," the minister added.
