Experts explained how to help Preserve the environment.

Experts presented the results of the work of the NGO "Ecological Nation" at the press center of the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center and told how energy efficiency, waste sorting, plastic reduction, and refusal of firecrackers and fireworks affect environmental preservation. The head of the NGO "Ecological Nation", Bohdan Krasavtsev, spoke about the organization's social media work and emphasized that anyone can contact them and publish their news. They also presented the results of their work over the past 7 months. During this period, 3 professional discussions were held (in 2020) - discussions with candidates for mayor of Kyiv on the environmental policy of the capital, a discussion on energy efficiency in the city transport of the capital, and a conference on building roads from recycled plastic in Ukraine. The project "I am eco" was launched. Within its framework, a free book "Eco-stories for my little friends" was published. Tetiana Krasavtseva, the project curator, told more about it. "During this time, we managed to transfer more than 600 books to different parts of Ukraine. 2 of them - in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Also, the books are in approximately 300 libraries in Ukraine, among them - rural and urban libraries. 200 books went to school libraries. Also, books are distributed abroad - in Turkey, Canada, and other countries in Ukrainian communities," says the speaker. This book is also in key institutions of the country and ministries that are related to environmental protection - the Verkhovna Rada, the Office of the President, and the Kyiv City State Administration. The book is planned to be distributed among orphanages and boarding schools. The book has also been transferred to 11 places of detention. The speakers indicated that the people there will be able to implement important projects for the benefit of society and the environment. The UN Representation in Ukraine also received the book. The book is freely available. It can be downloaded for free at the link. During this time, the collection has been viewed 20 thousand times. Bohdan Krasavtsev shared his impressions of conducting 25 master classes with schoolchildren and students. "Environmental protection is a topic that unites. After the master classes, students in their feedback said that they want to be involved in the topic of eco and environmental protection," added the speaker. The speakers noted that children and youth are already aware of this topic. They sort garbage, know how harmful polyethylene is, know about various campaigns, and that it is necessary to take care of the planet's ecology. Children are interested in developing in this topic and ask many questions during meetings. The quarantine made its adjustments, but this did not prevent online meetings. With great enthusiasm, the experts shared that children write letters, including paper ones. In their letters, they try to learn not only about the book but also about the author and his habits. After all, it is important not only to talk but also to do what you say. Also, in their letters, children talk about their dreams of becoming a writer and what needs to be done to achieve this dream. Another creative work presented by the experts is "Eco-poems" - an online collection of poems. The collection tells about the stories of the main characters and their travels. This collection can be ordered by writing to the organization's email. In addition, a children's competition for drawings, poems, and essays was launched. Works are accepted until May 31, 2021. The authors of the best works will receive gifts and will be published in the electronic magazine "Nalyudo" about science, man, and the environment. Each participant will receive a certificate. The speakers also presented the song "Save the Environment", which will motivate to believe in oneself. It is important to talk about energy efficiency and raise public awareness. Kostiantyn Hura, acting head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency, said that Ukraine is an energy-intensive state. If we compare ourselves with neighboring countries, we spend twice as much. Energy efficiency is not only about buildings. It also includes residential sectors, industry, agriculture, and transport. A few years ago, people regulated the temperature in their homes by opening or closing windows. Now it's nonsense. "Now the younger generation understands that energy efficiency is profitable and it is our investment in the future. We have the "Warm Loans" program, which has been used by 850 thousand Ukrainian families. 7,500 families have used this program for their workplaces. I believe that Ukraine will remain a state where it is pleasant to live, from an environmental point of view," adds the acting head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency.
