They will merge with Luhansk: the state environmental inspectorate is being reformed in the Kharkiv region

The State Environmental Inspectorate in Kharkiv region will be merged with the Luhansk region in 2021. Vgorode was informed about this by the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine.
In total, it is planned to create seven new districts based on the former regional inspectorates.
"As a result of such restructuring, the number of eco-inspectors in the newly created structures will be increased, in particular, due to cost optimization," said Andriy Malyovany, head of the State Environmental Inspectorate.
The first stage of the reform is already underway - Mykolaiv and Odesa regions are being merged (it will become the State Environmental Inspectorate of the North-Western District), Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions (State Environmental Inspectorate of the Southern District), Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions (State Environmental Inspectorate of the Prydniprovsky District).
During the second stage, in addition to Kharkiv and Luhansk regions, Vinnytsia and Khmelnytsky, Lviv and Ternopil, Sumy and Chernihiv regions will be merged.
"The creation of such interregional bodies will not only reduce the administrative costs of the State Environmental Inspectorate, but also strengthen supervision over compliance with environmental legislation," the State Environmental Inspectorate says.
