G7: ecology, pandemic, and an alternative to the "Silk Road"

Ecology, pandemic and an alternative to the "Silk Road" - these were the issues discussed by the leaders of the G7 countries during the second day of the forum.

Politicians signed a declaration, which they called "historic" - on measures that will prevent future pandemics. It is assumed that in the event of a new infection, the world should prepare to fight it within 100 days.

The leaders of the "seven" state that they have complete unity here, which cannot be said about the problem of the "Northern Ireland protocol" - that part of the "Brexit" agreement that concerns trade and borders on the island of Ireland. It was discussed at private meetings.

Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of Great Britain:

"I definitely believe that the protocol can be used and interpreted both in a pragmatic way and to justify draconian measures. This depends entirely on the European Union. Now there are many unnecessary obstacles and difficulties around this topic. But I am sure that with good will we will overcome them."
